Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. She was raised by a mother who was an housewife, and her father who was a teacher. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three elder brothers. McCormick was a gifted singer and performer from an early age. She perform shows using puppets to entertain her friends. She won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was then contacted through Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He requested that she be interested to be a part of the show business. McCormick landed her first major work in 1964, as she acted in a television commercial for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. The same year, she was featured in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty-Cathy's doll. Soon afterward, McCormick was cast at La Jolla Playhouse to play the character of the character Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick's audition was one of 1200 children for the part of the eldest towheaded daughter in The Brady Bunch. The sitcom featured Florence Henderson and Robert Reed, newlyweds who had an unmarried family. The show ran for five years. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was released in 2008. In it she revealed the fact that McCormick almost lost her virginity while on sets of the show in the fifth season, when she was a victim to Barry Williams. At the time, she was 16, and he was 19. She told me that it could be possible, however we didn't have the proper time to do it.
