Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick, and Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father worked as a teacher and her mother was a stay-at-home mother. Michael Dennis Kevin is her three elder siblings. McCormick started dancing and singing at an early age and often performed puppet shows in front of children in her area. McCormick won her first contest, the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of 6 and was contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick found her first role as a leading actress in the year 1964. McCormick was in an ad campaign for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. She subsequently starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial which was later adapted for The Wind It Up and It's Breaks by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the eldest daughter of the towheaded trio on The Brady Bunch. The show featured Florence Henderson, Robert Reed as well as a brand new family. The show lasted five years. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season, she was close to losing her virginity due to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. The actress was sixteen years older and the actor aged 19 at that time. This timing wouldn't have had worked out for us, she informed me.
